Posted - 15/01/2008 : 19:53:38 Got these made up, they are ghurd's controllers who I've bought them from but they come completely assembled and in a nice case. The connections come out with a terminal block which connects to sense, power and shunt terminals, its preset at 14.1v. There is also optional extras of cabling and a shunt load made out of wirewound resistors. Prices: Regulator: £15 Cabling : £5 Load : £10 I've set up a paypal shopping cart on my website, this will also accept credit cards/bank account. I have one regulator assembled now which I can send out but it would take a day or two otherwise to get it assembled and together. http://www.reenergy.co.uk/regulator This should be good for people who need a regulator but dont have the electronics know-how. |

Posted - 19/02/2008 : 21:25:31 fungus,
Are you up for shipping one of these to the U.S.? I'm curious as to what it would cost.
I saw this on the Otherpower the other day, now here...

What's that noise!? Uh Oh!...

Posted - 25/01/2008 : 17:00:19 argh - 'The positive connection for each of these is on the left connector' should mean 'right connector' , swap the leads round on each pair .. |

Posted - 25/01/2008 : 16:38:03 bad news... i connected it up the way you said and still no leds.. but it turned the dump load light bulb on? but the voltage in the battery is only 12.19v, whats next? any ideas? |

Posted - 25/01/2008 : 16:12:40 I didnt want to make the markings permanent as some people might not want them which is why I did it that way -BTW I would only use a light bulb for testing, I think ghurd said that he used a lightbulb on one and it blew up in only a few hours. |

Posted - 25/01/2008 : 15:59:09 ok, i hope this is it now!... i was going to 'scribe' those markings into the box with my dremel when i recieved it, thank god i didnt!! perhaps you could do that before you ship them out because its easy for those markings to get rubbed off!
ill let you know how i get on!

Posted - 25/01/2008 : 15:53:40 agrifabs, sent you an email back but thought I'd post it here in case: Ah, I think I see the problem,(references to position as in picture) To be clear the sense wires are on the 'thin' wires going to the circuit board, the battery connection is in the middle and the load is on the left two connectors. Not sure how I mislabelled it but that must be it - sorry :) The positive connection for each of these is on the left connector in each block of two. Makes it obvious why it wasnt working I guess.. Lets see if this works ..

Posted - 24/01/2008 : 19:51:22 right so it sounds like its correctly connected .. Can you check that there is definitely 12v on the end of the sense wires at the connector blocks with it wired in? Just making sure it is all ok. One thought , the legs of the LED's could have touched together making it seem like its not working. If you want to, open the case by taking off the white tape on the back and taking out the screws and checking everything inside, it should look like the picture below except with yours the heatsink goes outside of the case and theres two FET's.
