Posted - 25/01/2008 : 20:10:48 Got my 24v turbine bodged to a scaffold pole tonight as it is windy and have recorded a peak of 629 watts. Not to bad considering that it is only 7' off the ground. |

Looking good so far. Hugh piggots book is well worth a read lots of info in there. Do you have the use of machining equipment at school or are you lucky enough to have it at home Is your generator going to turn anticlockwise.
I found out why i only received generator, They only sent one. Second one is on its way.

Posted - 21/01/2008 : 23:08:09 This isnt for the futurenergy alternator but for a similar one .. I made a coupler for the shaft out of aluminium, this fits into a 2" pipe butt welded directly to the yaw bearing, then its copying the furling mount for the 4' machine in hugh piggotts book.

PS - not finished yet in them pictures - will get some more later :) |

Posted - 17/01/2008 : 22:55:41 Thanks Ben,
Yes I think you're right. Far easier to start a new thread for the ease of people reading.
No doubt our discussions will continue once we get our power hungry mits on them. I suppose the next questions are blade setups and chassis (assuming they are going into HAWT - probably not a safe assumption at all).
I've got a couple of pictures that I'll add tomorrow as to my own ideas.
Cheers
