You have to remember that generator is optimized for a relatively small rpm range provided by the engine and keeps output in a narrow range with a voltage regulator. You don't have that luxury with wind power. :)

Yes, it's a former gas generator
I was thinking the RPMs would need to be high
Its a 10hp model, puts out ~41 amps
I wasn't sure if it would put out some power that could be regulated & used if connected as a windmill |

It looks like this wind turbine is geared to the generator itself. Does your generator look anything like the one on it? Other than it being extremely large it is possible one way or another to do anything. Whether its feasible or not is something left up to you.

Hi.
Are you talking about a fuel driven generator (gas)?
If so I doubt it would work in a wind environment, it would need too many rpm's to reach cut in speed.
A picture and a bit more detail would be helpful - 5Kw is a huge amount of power for a wind generator, we work on up to about a 1/10th of that rating here, and in most cases a lot less.
