Hello les DIY-istes (I'm French)
I am fitting out a truck to walk to me during my holidays!
I will like to be most autonomous possible while remaining the least polluting (the generators are proscribed like letting turn my engine while being stopped).
J have thus to recover by hasar two solar panels powerful steps of 8v each one and I want to couple a wind mill on the principle of DynoHub.
My question relates to the electric assembly of my panels:
I assemble them in series or parallel?
My material:
. 2 solar panels of recovery which deliver me each one 8V (only data that J succeeded has to measure). regulator of load 360W/30A has fusible 15V
. battery Pb seals 12V 65Ah
. lighting LED 12V

Here are drawings… which is best for my use?

Measure the panel voltage in good sun, with nothing connected.
There is a chance they are 6V panels and will need connected in series. In a line.
12V panels in good sun measure about 20V.

I see no difference in the 2 diagrams.

The DynoHub must go directly to the battery. It could ruin a solar controller.
The LED lights will operate better straight to the battery.

To do simple (I use Systran to translate my first post but it was not a good idea, so now, i'll use MY english ) :

Allo koikoine,

I think I understand. Je pense que je vous comprends.

Your solar panels are unusual if they only provide 8V. Most small and medium panels will give double that. I would re-check the voltage output and also check the amperage.

If you series connect two outputs the voltage is added together so 8 + 8 = 16v. You will need an input of more than 13.5v to keep your 12v battery charged.

If you were to parallel connect your two panels the voltage would remain constant but the current would be added together.

Your 30A charge controller is more than adequate for the job.

12v LED lights will work straight off the battery but it would be nice to know the total wattage of the lights and the amperage output of your two panels.

Whereabouts in France are you?
