Just got the turbine all together. When I connect up the 3 phase rectifier to the instruction futureenergy gave the load to turn the rotor becomes massive, chain snapping type of massive. Is that what you would expect just be connecting the rectifier, if it is then i fear it won't turn!

Thanks all.

It depends what type of rectifier you have; if its a 3 phase rectifier with 5 terminals then you just put a line onto each of the group of 3 terminals then have DC output on the group of 2. With single phase rectifiers like in the picture above then theres two ways of doing it; with two of them connect a line from the wind gen to an AC terminal on each, leaving one unused and then taking DC output from both of them in parallel. With 3 of them then a line from the wind gen goes to two AC terminals and all three rectifiers in parallel.

Have you a picture of the rectifier you can post.

Here is my bridge rectifier the blue wires go to the turbine and of course red + black -

I am glad something is wrong as otherwise i have wasted many hours of build time!
Anyone have a wiring diagram for the rectifier, the futurenergy one is different between the picture they show of the rectifier and the wiring diagram.

Chris,
Wiring in the rectifier shouldn't cause any more drag than normal - unloaded.
Must be a short somewhere as bs85 suggests.

The Futures Green - Getwind of it.

Chris,

Sounds like the phases on the generator are shorted
