Looks like we both had the same idea... been nice if they were actually 360rpm though..

I think I have one of them motors :(

I purchased it, and perhaps useful information for others, as a Hansen Corp Precision Motor, 24v, 360RPM (no amp stated). It's a small palm sized motor I was hoping to make a trickle generator out of (I paid $3.50 US for it, my second motor purchase).

In reality it is 24v, 3600 rpm, .550mah/amp. Originally came from a money counting/ATM machine - ok for 1.2v battery charging, but not 12v battery charging.

Since then, I use a simple division by 10 for rough figuring the output voltage (not current) of a motor. For instance with the above motor; divide the rpm / 10 = 360, and voltage / 10 = 2.4. At 360 rpm the motor will produce a voltage of 2.4v (give or take). It is not 100 percent accurate by anymeans, but will give a very crude ballpark idea.

And so with that, my latest motor I purchased, which believe it or not, I haven't had a chance to do any bench testing on, 90v at 1750rpm / 10. At 175rpm it should produce close to 9v, or at 262ish rpm's it should produce 13.5v which is sufficient for 12v battery charging.

I will try.
My luck is often just as bad as everyone elses.

My guess might be a little better than some, but far from perfect.
ie: I found some 24V 360 RPM (Not Gear head) motors that looked perfect, so I bought 10.
They don't make 3V.
