I would say most here on the forum already practice energy conservation (year round), and when attempting to charge batteries with pv and wind, we may be ultra conservationists by habbit rather than effort.

I'll put my hands up and admit I forgot the Earth Hour - like many others I suspect 
I only run a 5 foot fluorescent tube in my room, so not too bad...
