Posted - 26/02/2008 : 22:01:14 As I am somewhat back at the drawing board, I was interested in everyones opinions of the VAWT shown here: http://www.pacwind.net/ Have a look at the TV style stuff at the bottom, from something about the size of my Benesh they are claiming 1Kw, yet it looks fairl crude with a disc and some simple looking curves?

Posted - 27/02/2008 : 06:49:52 I hadn't seen the jay leno bit, i can't understand why they would use two completely different styles. Seems like most people are opting for the lenz style, any pictures of your progress dc2000? |

Posted - 26/02/2008 : 22:36:35 Well. As the video demonstrates, if the guy can simply stop the 'thing' with his hand it doesn't offer much power...
If that generates 500 watts I would be very surprised, maybe 100w in a typhoon.
There is then quite a jump to a more professional unit for Jay Leno Difficult to understand the massive progression?? http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/jay_leno_garage/4216780.html?series=11
Just my thoughts
