Hello again Mr Ben and the little gotwinds outhere Guess what, I removed the blades from my generator, and fitted a 2 bladed prop, the prop from top to bottom is 1.300mm, and when it spins man is it fast, here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7Fvf-lPWbc although when I filmed this, wasn't very windy at all, I can't wait for really windy days, I think seeing my turbine going at an amazing rpms constantly will bring sticky stuff around my privates (lets keep it clean, this is a family website). I took it to a mates flat and put it attached to a scaffolding tower on his roof and I got with the two bladed 26 volts and up to 6 amps, whats that in watts? although I seriously think that I can get a bit more, but at this speeds its bloody scary the wind turbine turns so quick, that if you happen to be in its path, I'll see u in the next life my friend, reserve my 7 virgins for me. anyway I'm loving messing about with different blades, and seeing there different charatheristics, and performance. see u mate Keep up the good work Super Windy

Formula P= I Times V
P = ? is what we have to find. I = Current 6 Amperes v = Voltage 26 Volts
Calculation would be 6 times 26 Equals 156 Watts
Super Windy has made a power out of 156 Watts!!!
For that little turbine thats bloody good!!!
Time I put go faster stripes on my DYNOHUB lol lol
Well done windy!!!! :-)
Watching your videos now!!

Right calculation Victor, but super windy is measuring 'open voltage' I guess. Therefore when connected up to a 12v battery, this would pull the voltage down to around 12 volts
Therefore 12v x 6A = 72 watts (still pretty good)
At this point, I remind you all to be very careful, whilst good fun - a badly made or mounted spinning propeller is extremely dangerous. http://www.gotwind.org/legal.htm

SAFETY FIRST!! IF YOU MAKE IT SECOND YOU WONT BE HERE TO TELL US ABOUT IT!!!
Sharp knives - Always cut away from yourself. Drills - Make sure your drilling on somthing thats stable and wont move Extension Cables - Keep them away from the area your working incase your feet get caught in them.
Always have a second person nearby if your doing things at a high level..
I walked into a factory once and seen a cleaner hang from a hook all night because he was up on a table and fell on to it....
I have seen an electrician fall to his death from a high height on scaffolding,,,,,,
SAFETY FIRST FOLKS!!!!!
THINK BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!!! |
