Hi Ben and little gotwinds I have been thinking for a while to buy a bigger solar panel 120w+ to charge my batteries, however they are very expensive and I have been looking at the future energy generator, which costs £150 and I'm thinking of buying it and make my own blades, and build a bigger wind turbine, I think that pricewise It's cheaper than a panel, however I know that a panel will last me much longer and won't give so much headache has the turbine, but looking at the possible output from the generator my mind is confused, what would you do, I really enjoyed building my little turbine and once again couldn't have donne it without your help and the other little gotwinds in this forum, do you think that the pvc blades would be suitable for this type of generator, also do I really need a charge controller, has I check my batteries everyday, and would be able to remove the turbine if there was a risk of very high winds. Please help, I have giving up smoking now for a couple of months and have £275 in the piggy bank for my next project. Which one solar panel or wind generator?!, I let all the little gotwinds decide, I will has usual be harrasing all of you with questions and updates if we decide on the turbine's favour. cheerio me old chap Keep up the good work Super Windy

Your best option in my oppinion is the solar panel, a lot less hassle, the future energy alternator is a nice bit of kit, but needs more efficient blades, like the one's future energy sells - the PVC blades wouldn't be very good in this application.
I would certainly also invest in a charge controller, I suppose it would have to be rated at 10+ amps with the 120w solar panel.
