We are finally getting around to setting up the shop/store section of the website, we are hoping to supply a whole array of renewable energy and 'green' products from wind turbines to solar powered radios.
What would be useful is to know what you would like to see on the Gotwind online store?
Thoughts appreciated.
Ben.

Hi Ben. I for one might expect to see basic components for building projects, whether they be for wind, solar electric or solar heating. A start might be the more commonly used items such as blocking diodes, reasonably priced blades, hubs and maybe basic power measurement gauges. On the solar electrical side, a variety (price, quality and size) of PV panels and associated components. Solar powered electrical gizmos are always appealing, but some sites charge ridiculous prices for them. Hope this is of help (and gets the feed-back ball rolling, so to speak)

Thanks Hef. The shop idea is very much secondary to my (Gotwinds) main intentions, to share DIY renewable energy ideas to all.
It's very difficult to compete with the big boys of retail, and a lot of hassle if I'm honest.
I appreciate your thoughts.

Hi Ben and all at gotwind,
I don't know if this is what you're thinking about, but for me a one stop shop for all the little bits we need would be a great idea.
Given the fact that a knowledge base has been built up by yourself and the other members it would be great to see the things that they have found to work on their projects available here.
Leds, bearings, blades ,inverters, diodes heatsinks dump load controllers etc etc.
Rather than get into a very expensive set up of having to purchase massive amounts of stock, if you know where the stuff can be sourced from and could arrange shipping for people, I'm sure people like me that are only learning wouldn't mind paying a small surcharge to Gotwind for this service.
A one stop shop for all the fiddly bits you require...

my first encounter was to build a custome alternator and anything that i needed for that: n42 magnets, 20gauge wire, diots, steel discs, bridge rectifiers......
but soon i relizede i need alot more things: sorts of blades sizes and shapes, dc motor for testing or modded alternators like Presto, controllers, batteries, motor mounts, diffrent sizes on towers,..... and obove all that SERVICE was the most improtant thing for me. Serve well....that is my advice.
