I have had to go out tonight at 01.30am to check my turbine. The wind is hitting 60 miles an hour gusts easy here and I`m afraid bens blade blans have saved the day!

I`m glad the bigger blades I made are not on the turbine at the moment as they would probably rip right off.

The sheer speed of my Balanced Micro-Turbine is hitting an all time record.I`m feeling rather smug and pleased with myself at getting my moneys worth tonight!!

In fact I had to go out and put a dummy load of a 16watt 12Volt twin tube light onto the turbine basically to slow the blades down.

I`m now got £70 for my Turbine battery fund by selling things on ebay I did not use and this is still being green in a way because people have the things I have sold and are using them and I`m getting my battery out of it....

If I was working Id probably spend £3000 on this hobby on buying the company stuff, but to be honest I have had more fun the last few months making my own stuff here on gotwind forum learning from all the people posting vital information that they have passed onto me..

Thanks everyone again for helping make my own free power...

Victor, if there is a very bratty kid on your street, it's a good night to give him a kite as a "gift"! You may never see him again. ;)

Good to see the fort is fairing well so far.

Cheers!

Cheers BushWhacker lol....

Think i`ll surf the net for an hour then go back to bed....The wind here has been really amazing for the last 2 days.I think this is the peak of it hitting me now and well at the back of this hot air gust we will probablt have rain and no wind for a few days.

I usually find when the wind is like this it means a big change in the weather for a few days be it hot for 3 days in a row or rain for a few days in a row..

For now I see the wind probably a result of the incoming hot wind or the incoming bad weather!! lol

If the turbine is spinning in the north I get colder weather. If it is facing to the south I get hotter weather... there must be some explanation to this weather wise..

Anyway the Tubine just stays in the one direction constantly and thats what I`m really looking for..Even in the madness of wind conditions tonight....

I`m sure scotland must be one of the best areas for wind Turbines. I see there has been a wind turbine farm in the distance from me here since 1995 now......I will upload a piccy later....

Picture taken from above my house on the Gleniffer Braes using 10X optical seeing Turbine Farm around 30+ miles away.

I know what you mean Victor, in southern Alberta, Canada, we have wind farms in the Pincher Creek area. More often than not you have to lean into the wind to stand up around there.

I did a few gas well treatments out there in my youth, and one day it was 60 MPH+ gusting to 90 MPH+ all day! Almost had to put rocks in my pockets to stay on the ground. Walking upwind was hard work, walking down wind was tricky in keeping your balance.

Can you imagine the power you could pull out of a day like that with a tough windmill? Can you imagine watching a windmill not quite up to snuff exploding? I wouldn't want to watch that from too close.

Hope your batteries are at full charge after this.

Cheers!
