A link to a relevant web page would be handy jones11x

It probably would be o.k judging by the information you have given.

Cheers

The first 90 volt motor (3XE21) looks reasonable, however they are very small in physical size.

Even the slightly larger 3XE22 wouldn't produce much power I'm afraid.

I personally wouldn't waste the money for maybe generating a few watts - try a dynohub if you can find one on eBay or an Ametek 30v DC motor from America.

Ben.

Jones11x,
While I agree with Gotwind on sourcing if you have your heart set on "New", look here on the same site... http://www.electricmotorwarehouse.com/m111014.htm

And look at the fractional HP 180 volt units. It will half your cut in speed over your original selection netting you far more power on a breezy day. For example (I know it's another 50 bucks but...)
(Frame)31CS (Cat#)M1120041 (HP)1/10 (RPM)1750 (amps)0. 6 (Weight)7# (price)$148.72

I'd like to thank you for the link as I'm going to see what my cost will be locally. Shipping to Canada from the USA is quite pricey at the border.

Thanks!
BW

*COUGH COUGH* $315 CAD locally for a 1/4 HP motor that sells at your link for $170 US. The loonie is right around 95 cents US. They must gold plate them when they cross the border???

Cheers!
