hi, i am trying to sort out lighting for a field shelter. i have some of the bits already... such as a dynamo from ebay,a battery from a friend and am expecting a broken cooler fan from a friend. i have tried maplins, but they have now stopped doing the velleman P1823, and cannot advise on an alternative.since i don't really have the understanding ,and am only copying other people, i don't know where to go next. any ideas please? also, i am in the forest of dean. is there anyone nearby who would like to share information? i have the room here to experiment with options... but not the knowledge. cheers, carla.
Hello Carla. I assume you are talking about the dynohub style generator. I would forget about the velleman kit, it is not needed, when charging a 12v battery. All the information you require for the dynohub are in my plans for £2.99 http://www.gotwind.org/Purchase_Plans.htm Also there is a page on my site of visitors succesful wind generators, maybe you could copy or adapt them to suit your needs. http://www.gotwind.org/visitor_1.htm The simplest method of power generation is solar panels - Although they are expensive, Maplin do some good solar kits. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=96861&doy=16m12
