Got this motor off ebay, its basically an axial flux with the stator rotating with brushes; pancake motor, nameplate;
 It does need about 500rpm for cutin which isnt too good so I carved a 2 blade propeller out of a 1*3 pine piece 4ft dia, it only took an hour or two to carve out. The coupler already on the shaft has two metal 'prongs' sticking up and the shaft has a threaded hole so I made slots for the metal bits and bolted it on, pretty secure connection.
 Them swivelchairs make excellent mounts ... its just sitting on there for testing but theres absolutely no wind just now. I'm a little concerned the 2 blade prop might not overcome brush losses well enough but I'll see..
 for carving the blades I just do it roughly, tapering in on both sides to what seems right, on the side it tapers back up again at the root.
The only tools used to carve it were a hand plane and saw. I'll have to see how well it does and if so make up a mount for it; any thoughts?
