Hello everyone, just a few words of introduction.
My name is Peter and I am the owner of www.DPMeters.co.uk
We are instrument and control design suppliers, we follow up design ideas and manufacture control systems for customers and distributors alike (see us on the 'links' page).
We are happy to help with any instrumentation requests such as reading voltage, current, shunts, load diverters, dump heaters, etc and most other technical details for renewable system electronics. We can offer basic advice and suggestions for your applications and if during that time it brings in a few sales that is all we ask.
If you have a question and we think we can answer it for you we will :-)
We are well known for being the most responsive people for feedback with questions about renewable energy instrumentation.
All the best with your projects. Regards Peter.

Just one question about the meters; they can measure the same supply they are powered with? as quite a few will smoke if you try that and need an isolated converter..

Hi Fungus........Yes the meters use the same common source, for the purpose of measuring current the shunt MUST therefore be in the negative cable. Our Dualmeter instrument measures volts and amps in the same circuit and only consumes 5mA, against the chinese LED types this is a great power saving. We often sell the Dualmeter with more than one shunt so that the customer can read different currents in their applicaton, i.e, wind turbine charging current, battery load current, solar charging current, etc, etc. This is done simply with a small selector switch or rotary switch switching in each millivolt output form the respective shunt as required. If you wish to see a sketch please email tech@dpmeters.co.uk and I will send you a relevant drawing using Microsoft Paint.
Kind regards. Peter
