hi one and all,

well after being battered by 80mph gales allday, aswell as blizzards, i can report my turbines came through them totally unscathed, that was over 29hrs of non stop battering, just glad i cut the 8" off the high speed turbine blades on my beewind....lol. my 2 chinese ones are banging and shaking away on there mounts but still producing that valuable FREE power.
i just hope all other members had no trouble with the gales and bad weather, even so take care out there.

my weather station recorded gusts of only 37.4mph here but this is in the middle of buildings and the wind had to go over a hill, I'm on the east side of scotland too so..
Didnt have my wind turbine up though..

hi fungus,
well i'm based at 300 mtrs above sea level fungus, with open aspects to all directions, and when it does blow it blows, all the bridges north of inverness where closed to all traffic today, and that makes for long detours, but its great to hear the whining of a working turbine.
i'm going out tomorrow to try and catch the hydro workers repairing some downed powr lines and see if i can get a hydro pole for a new tower.

Strong gusts in Toronto too. If my anemometer was right, I saw 40Km/h constantly and 108km/h gusts four times in three minutes. I was lucky I took my brand new turbine down few days ago, to replace the Ametek. It wouldn't be able to handle that kind of wind in the actual set-up (tiny tower and guy ropes).
