My son and I are working on a science project and made a few trips to our local recycling depot and tried a motor from a VCR and a ac motor without much voltage we are only getting 1.5 -2 volts.

The truck is a 9.2 volt remote control do you think this would work?

Hi Jimmy,

First off, what are you trying to achieve?

Do you have any idea of the operating RPM of the 9.6 volt motor? Is there a gear reduction on the motor? Chances are it isn't a good choice.

As a rule of thumb you will be looking for a high voltage low rpm motor. If you divide the voltage into the rpm you get a number that tells you the rpm per volt. The lower the rpm per volt the better. Try to find a motor that is less than 20 rpm per volt and you will be headed in the right direction. If you find something near 10 rpm per volt you have hit the jackpot! ... and MUST tell me where you found this motor in a private message.

I hope this helps,
BW
