It depends on the wire you use.
I had some PVs with that type of opening, I think. The proper gauge wire, in 2 conductor, would not fit, so I had to use single conductor wire, meaning it wouldn't have worked for me.

Not here.
I'm not metric. Sorry. Long story as short as I can make it...

The dang PVs came in from Portugal with some kind of metric EU something boxes I never even saw before.
The best I could do was 1 strand of #10 in each hole. Might have been about 0.24".
Meaning, for me, a box with 4 openings meant 4 wires, 2 from the PV, 2 to the battery. Like no box at all. I can do that with a longer wire!

That box would work for me, if I used 2 boxes. One for pos, and one for neg. 3 in, 1 out.
Meaning 3 PV pos going in and one out to the battery. Same for the negative.

With a small enough PVs and a short run to the batteries, maybe 2 conductor UV-resistant wire is available in the UK.
But not here.

I know nothing about UK plumbing. This is related to US plumbing.
I have used PVC, a "P-trap" to pipe into the attic, with a vent pipe roof seal.
All the wires went into the attic before they were joined.
A few feet (1/2 meter?) in, they were coiled to somewhat resist lightning.

IF you know the OD of the 2-conductor wire gauge you need, the size of the glands (holes?), and they match,
Then yes, it will work if the holes match the OD of the wire.

My advice. Figure out what wire you need, the go to the local hardware store.
Tell the 80 year-old guy you need X wires into 4 water-proof holes. He'll tell you what you need.

With good quality PVs, I would join then inside (out of the weather), 2 on 1 side, 2 on the other, soldered, with heat shrink.
And I leave 30CM of wire "extra", Coiled (lightning) for use in 25 years in case one goes bad.
