I'm making progress here. I'm going to order ghurds controller kit and give it a go.
I would also like to get an amp meter and a volt meter and wire them in so I can monitor things. I like the old analog style gauges. I was just wondering if anyone has a simple wiring diagram of how to wire all this stuff together once I have all the parts (from the pole to the battery, controller and gauges). Unfortunately I know just enough to be dangerous. With the mechanics it is a no brainer. With the electrics.... That is another story.
for wind turbines moving coil analog are best volt meters go in paralell across the + and - Amp meters go in series with the - across an external shunt if in excess of 25 amps is expected, the shunt needs to be matched to the meter
