hi fellow windies.
just a quick posting here for you all to be aware of, this morning when my neighbour called for a blether (chat) i noticed a different tone of noise from my bee wind, and as we stood looking up at it we noticed it was not moving on its swivel mount, the snow and sleet from the blizzards had frozen the pipe over pipe swivel, and she was at about a 45 degree angle to the wind, and really swaying the pole on ever gust of wind. so just watch your wee ameteks and make sure they are free to seek out the wind, it took a good crack from a lump hammer to free her this morning.

regards donnie.

just keep her spinning..

Keep between the top and bottom well greased.
That should stop her from freezing solid.

What is a UK "lump hammer"?
Something like a USA "BFH"? Big Friggin Hammer. :-)

lump hammer is your basic middle of the road implament highly portable not quite as dainty as the manchester screwdriver (carpenter hammer) but not quite a sledgus maximus or "sledgie" often used to put vent holes in shippen walls modify cars for oval racing and delicate surgically precise "give it a whack" type situations

First it was the "spanner"? Now a "lump hammer"? LOL!!

I'm just now realizing that a spanner is actually a crescent wrench. The lump hammer must be like a mallet?

Pretty funny...

AJ

What's that noise!? Uh Oh!...

Imagine the ice build up and shards blowing off on the big ones. That's a scary thought.

Go Huskers!

"Percussive Maintenance"......usually works, and teaches it a lesson at the same time.
