Have any of you considered (or built) a system that can be connected DIRECT to you household electrics so that you dont need any batteries or an inverter ?
Wind systems produce "dirty" power - power which has erratic frequency and amplitude.
There are three steps generally associated with cleaning the dirty power:
1. Rectification - the rectifier takes an AC signal from the power source and converts it into DC 2. Store the DC power - the battery buffer 3. Invert the DC back into AC (Good power with constant frequency and amplitude)
Now you have usable power available to distribute to your household electronics.
I don't know how it works, so I can't say it does/doesn't have battery or inverter.
But doesn't the turbine sold by B and Q works something like it. My understanding is that it won't produce power unless the grid power is on to power up a part of it (in the manner of a car alternator) and what comes out is ac.
